Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your professional guide will greet you and provide a brief safari orientation before driving southwest toward Tarangire National Park. Known for its sprawling baobab trees and large elephant herds, the park offers an immediate introduction to East Africa's wildlife.

You will enjoy an afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River circuit, where wildlife gathers to drink, before heading to Tarangire Safari Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

The views from the safari tents and public areas at this lodge are the best in Tarangire. From your vantage point on one of the park's highest points, you'll be able to see deep into the park, from the forests and rivers to distant hills. Watch for elephants and listen for zebras calling from down in the valley. En-suite safari tents and a handful of bungalows face the same views, and there's an interesting shop.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

You will spend a complete day exploring the diverse ecosystems of Tarangire, ranging from seasonal swamps to open savannahs. The park is home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and over 500 bird species.

A bush picnic lunch will be served at a designated site overlooking the river, allowing you to maximize game-viewing time throughout the morning and late afternoon.

In the evening, an optional night game drive is available for an opportunity to spot nocturnal species as the bush comes alive after dark. You will return to Tarangire Safari Lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Central Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you will depart Tarangire and transit through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Central Serengeti. As you descend into the infinite plains, game viewing begins en route. Central Serengeti is famous for year-round predator activity around the Seronera River valley.

Upon arriving at Mbuni Tented Camp, you will check in, enjoy a hot meal, and prepare for your evening schedule

Central Serengeti National Park

You will dedicate another full day to exploring deeper sectors of the Central Serengeti, such as the Retima Hippo Pool and Maasai Kopjes. Your guide will tailor the routes based on recent animal movements to ensure optimal sightings. You will return to Mbuni Tented Camp for your final night in the central sector

You'll be heading down more safari trails in search of animals in Central Serengeti National Park when we take you on a guided game drive. This is the best thing about many safaris, and you'll hopefully see many animals.

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Ndutu region, which straddles the southern Serengeti and northern Ngorongoro boundaries. Late December marks the arrival of the Great Migration herds in these nutrient-rich short-grass plains for the calving season. You will check into Sero Tented Camp in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive, followed by dinner and overnight.

You're going to love the authentic safari-style tents of Sero Tented Camp, which will be your base here in the heart of the park. The decor is simple with canvas walls and floors, lots of natural light, and a feeling that you're a part of the African wild: the feeling is especially strong when a lion roars right outside your tent. You're guaranteed a warm welcome here and there's nothing quite like dining under the stars. There's so much wildlife in the area that animals often pass through camp.

Ndutu

Early morning offers an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari over the Ndutu plains, where you can drift above thousands of wildebeest and zebra at dawn, followed by a champagne bush breakfast upon landing.

Guests not opting for the flight will embark on an early morning game drive. The rest of the day is spent off-roading across the Ndutu plains to observe predator-prey dynamics up close. Overnight at Sero Tented Camp.

You will spend another day exploring the acacia woodlands and alkaline lakes (Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek) of the Ndutu region. Flamingos, cheetahs, and big pride lions are frequent highlights in this sector. Lunch will be provided as a picnic in the field or back at camp. Overnight at Sero Tented Camp.

Put on some warm clothes and enjoy an early morning game drive. This is the perfect time to experience the wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit. The light is soft and warm – perfect for photography – and most animals are out and about, and active. If you’re not an early riser, you’ll definitely want to make an exception here.

In Ndutu, your early morning game drive gets you close to the wildlife when they’re most active, and the landscapes are at their most beautiful.

Olduvai Gorge

You will depart Ndutu and travel toward the historic Oldupai Gorge Museum. Here, you will participate in a guided Walking Safari along the gorge, accompanied by an official site guide and armed ranger, to explore the paleoanthropological sites where early hominid fossils were excavated.

After visiting the museum and enjoying lunch, you will drive out of the conservation area down to the lush highlands of Karatu to stay at Marera Valley Lodge.

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early departure from Marera Valley Lodge, you will descend 600 meters into the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive.

The crater caldera hosts a dense population of wildlife, including the endangered black and white rhino, hippos, elephants, and lions. You will enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before ascending the crater rim and returning to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner.

On this morning's guided game drive, we'll take you down into Ngorongoro Crater; the drive down is one of the most thrilling possible approaches for a day of wildlife viewing. You'll be down in the crater for most of the day looking for lions, hyenas, black rhinos and more.

Lake Eyasi

An early morning start takes you to Lake Eyasi for an immersive cultural excursion. You will spend time with the Hadzabe bushmen, learning about their ancient hunter-gatherer lifestyle, tracking methods, and bow-making techniques.

Afterward, you will visit the Datoga tribe, skilled blacksmiths who forge metal ornaments and arrowheads. Following these interactions, you will return to Marera Valley Lodge for lunch and rest.
